Salado Course

Yardage: Championship 6755 Regular 6278 Ladies 5435
Rating: 70.3
Slope: 117
Par: 72
PLAYERS COMMENTS:  Lot's of golfhappy's friends play these courses almost every weekend and tell me they are in real good shape.   Lot's of trees with well placed greens, protected by sand and some water make these traditional courses a super place to play.  Varied elevations come into play.  The courses are among my my personal favorites.  The personnel are very customer friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.  The Fort Sam courses easy to get to, with direct access from Harry Wurzbach.  Take 410 to Harry Wurzbach and go South to just past the National Cemetery.

San Antonio, TX 78236
Yardage: Blue 6883 White 6544 Red 5437
Rating: 70.6
Slope: 117
Par: 72
PLAYERS COMMENTS: Narrow tree-lined fairways and a creek which you often encounter make this a fun course. The ninth hole, playing up a steep hill is a real experience as is the elevated green on 18. This is by far one of my favorite golf courses.  If you have a friend who is in the military and can get on, this is a neat course with well-manicured greens.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown. From Hwy 90 going W, exit military Dr. and turn left. Go to 2nd gate and turn in. Follow the signs to the course. You need proof of auto insurance to gain access to the base.

Randolph AFB, TX 78150
Yardage: Blue 7172 White 6711 Red 5540
Rating: 71.6
Slope: 110
Par: 72
NOTE:  Randolph Oaks is not your dad's golf course!  The course has been completely rebuilt with all new greens, sand traps, rough, rough around the greens.  All the greens now have lots of breaks and are really tough.  Bring you best putting game!  It's now a great command level golf course.
PLAYERS COMMENTS:
It's still a great course to walk.  Troy and his staff are very user friendly.  Great snack bar for breakfast and lunch.   Open to military, government employees and their guests.  The management and grounds crew have turned Randolph Oaks into a superb golf experience.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown. Take I-35 north and exit on Pat Booker Road. The sign will say Randolph AFB. This takes you in the main gate where you can get directions from the guard. Proof of auto insurance is needed to gain access to the base.
