PLAYERS COMMENTS:
Absolutely a super, yet affordable, hill country course.
Lots of hills, streams or dry creek beds and trees, combined with some narrow landing
areas, will challenge any level of player. Be careful of deer wandering onto the
course. Very scenic layout. Beware of any green with a four in the
number... The winter greens are still fast and on 4 or 14 you either put it in the cup or
chance it rolling downhill and off the green. Worth the drive.
Golfhappy Note: Played the course on 28 Nov 03 and it
was great. Real tight fairways, the people are friendly, the snack bar has good food
and with postage size greens, it is a challenging course. More like a 122 slope than
119. I really like this course.
Distance: About
70 minutes from downtown San Antonio. Take I-35 or Rt. 281 North to Rt. 46.
Turn West from I-35 onto Rt. 46 or turn East on Rt. 46 from Rt. 281. Go to FM 2722
and go north (turn right if coming from I-35 and turn left if coming from 281). Go
about 13 miles until you come to a fork in the road and go to the left to stop sign.
Turn left onto FM 2673 until you come to first flashing light. Turn right onto
Campbell Drive and follow signs. Turn right on Watts Lane into the entrance.

scenery, amenities, maintenace, personel. look forward to playing this
course as often as possible.

Lot's of local San Antonio golfers take the short drive to Devine Texas to
play this course.
Built in 1967, this semi-private golf course draws players from miles around
for its challenging greens, beautiful oak-filled vistas, and eccentric
members. Golf Digest calls it, "One of the best-kept secrets in South
Texas." To Quote the Texas Golf Bible."Nestled
in the foothills south of San Antonio, this 18-hole public course was
labeled by Golf Digest as "one of the best-kept secrets in South Texas."
Built in 1967, the course is covered with centuries- old majestic oaks that
frame lush fairways and multi-tiered greens. Water comes into play on six
holes.
Start off well with the short 332-yard par 4 No. 1, and the 527-yard par 5
No. 2. Decent scores on those two holes can help your confidence for No. 3,
the number one handicap at 410 yards."
Distance:
About 35 minutes from downtown. Take I-35 South, past Lytle and after about
34.5 miles you are in Devine.
From the corner of 410 and
35 on the south side take 35 south for about 10 to 15 miles. From there
merge onto exit 124. at the stop sign keep going straight to the first
light. At the light keep going straight and you will go over a railraod
track. Past the rail road track you come up to a stop sign, go through
the stop sign untill you get to the next stop sign. at this stop sign take a
right..( I think the name of the road is libold ) Drive on libold untill you
get to another stop sign Go through it and the club house will be on your
right hand side.

Northcliff. The course is in great shape and is a super value.
You need to play this course!
PLAYER COMMENTS:
Lots of water, trees and rolling fairways and greens make this a
fun course to play. Players of all skill levels will find this course a challenge.
It's the closest course to Retama race track, so you heavy betters can have a full
day and night. The staff is user friendly and professional. Last played
by Golfhappy on 11 July 04. Lots of houses going up next to the course which makes
for out of bounds if not careful with tee shots. Golf Pro Todd Causey and the crew
have really improved the course over the past couple of years. Fairways and greens
are in really good shape. The clubhouse is undergoing renovation and hopefully the
restrooms will be included in that project.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown San Antonio. It's an easy drive string North
on I-35. Take exit 178 and follow the frontage road one mile to the entrance on the
right.

Excellent traditional course with well placed fairways and
greens. Lovely old trees make ball placement critical to a good score. Members
have first crack at better tee times, especially on weekends, but a super course for
visitors to play during the week.

25 minutes from downtown in N.E. side of town. Take I-35 North from downtown. Exit
onto Loop 410 West and get in the right hand lane. Exit Perrin Beitel and turn
right. Drive quite a ways to Thousand Oaks and turn left. The course is on
your right off of Thousand Oaks. .

PLAYERS COMMENTS:
The course has to be rated as one of the
top courses in San Antonio. The greens are fast and the fairways are in great shape.
Plenty of water add to add to the challenge this course provides.
Narrow fairways with some streams and ponds in play lead to small, fast, undulating greens
protected by sand bunkers. The greens are very fast and you will need your lob wedge to
hold them on approach pitch shots. The opening hole is the number three handicap, so be
sure to warm up before you start. There are plenty of rolling hills and wind is usually a
factor. The front is more open than the back, which has lots of trees protecting the
narrow fairways. It's a fun, pretty course and the staff is courteous and professional. This one needs to be played.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown. Take I-35 north and exit
Binz-Engleman. Turn right to FM 78. Turn left onto FM 78 and go 3 miles to Woodlake Pkwy.
Turn right. The course entrance is a short drive on the left.
